Congressman Steve King Flaunts White Supremacist Views on Live Television Interview

In light of the nation’s extremely controversial and unprecedented presidential election, it seems that many believe that a celebrity with no political background can change our country into a better place. But what about those who are already in office, and who have already sworn an oath to do what they can to protect the citizens of the United States?

Iowa’s Republican Congressman Steve King has come under fire at the Republican National Convention earlier in July. In what some are calling a ‘hate speech’, King went on live television to endorse white supremacy. And while the current news gossip sites are focusing more on how Melania Trump plagiarized First Lady Michelle Obama’s speech, black news websites have focused on reporting the words of Steve King, something everyone needs to hear.

In a live interview King was surrounded by other panelists — one being an African-American woman– discussing the upheaval on the convention floor around the problematic call by anti-Trump supporters to follow a roll call vote.

Esquires Charles Pierce mentioned how Trump’s candidacy will change the Republican party’s demographic of white men into a more diverse political group, a first for the GOP. He said that the RNC was led by ‘unhappy, dissatisfied white people.”

King held nothing back in his response. Urban news website EURWeb reported him saying, ?This ?old white people? business does get a little tired, Charlie.I?d ask you to go back through history and figure out, where are these contributions that have been made by these other categories of people that you?re talking about, where did any other subgroup of people contribute more to civilization??

When asked to clarify if he meant white people, King went on to explain, ?Than?than Western civilization itself, that?s rooted in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, and the United States of America, and every place where the footprint of Christianity settled the world. That?s all of Western civilization.?

Not surprisingly, chaos ensued on the set.

Calling a minority a subgroup leans very closely to the Nazi ideology that labeled groups of people for extermination as ‘subhuman.’

In defense of his statements, King went on to even say that the idea of multiculturalism wasn’t inherently true. Now he is putting individuals into subgroups.

One thing is clear though, and that black news websites are not backing down when it comes to promoting the horrific white supremacy viewpoints of this Congressman.
